Blue Poison Dart Frog (Dendrobates tinctorius “Azureus”)
The Blue Poison Dart Frog is one of the most iconic and visually striking dart frogs. It features a vivid cobalt-blue body with black spots and markings, creating a bold contrast that makes it a standout in any vivarium. Each frog has unique patterning, ensuring no two are exactly alike.
Native to the rainforests of southern Suriname, these frogs are terrestrial and thrive in high-humidity, planted enclosures with moss, leaf litter, and plenty of hiding spots. They are diurnal, active during the day, and display fascinating behaviors, making them a favorite among hobbyists.
Adults reach about 1.5–2 inches in length. Their diet consists mainly of small live insects, such as fruit flies and springtails, supplemented with vitamins and calcium for healthy growth.
