Diet

They also enjoy frozen foods such as bloodworms, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and daphnia to provide additional protein.

Compatibility

  • Best kept with medium to large peaceful or semi-aggressive South American fish.
  • Excellent tank mates include Severums, Geophagus, Festivums, Silver Dollars, larger tetras, peaceful plecos, and many medium-sized cichlids.
  • May become territorial with their own species unless housed in a large group.
  • Avoid very small fish and delicate, soft-leaved plants that may be damaged.
