Full Description
Description:
Tanganyikan gobies, belonging to the genera Eretmodus and Tanganicodus, are unique cichlids from Lake Tanganyika that closely resemble marine gobies in both appearance and behavior. They have elongated bodies, blunt faces, and fused pelvic fins that allow them to perch on rocks in strong currents. These fish are highly specialized algae grazers and are best known for their fascinating behavior, constant grazing, and pair bonding. Their subtle coloration and natural behavior make them a favorite among advanced Tanganyikan enthusiasts.
