Vallisneria gigantea – Description & Care Guide
Description
Vallisneria gigantea, commonly known as Giant Vallisneria or Giant Tape Grass, is a tall, grass-like background plant that creates a natural jungle look in larger aquariums. Its long ribbon-shaped leaves can grow all the way to the water’s surface, often forming beautiful flowing curtains that add movement and depth to the aquascape.
This hardy species is popular with both beginners and experienced aquarists due to its fast growth and ability to thrive in a wide range of conditions. It is especially well suited for large community tanks, cichlid aquariums, and planted displays.
